Paragliding Course

Girik Himalaya provides a comprehensive paragliding training program ranging from beginner to advanced levels, leading to international certifications recognized worldwide.

Course Levels, Duration, and Flight Details

P1 – Beginner Pilot Course

• Duration: Approx. 7 days
• Flight Training: Includes multiple ground control sessions. It also involves 5–7 supervised solo flights. These flights concentrate on safe take-offs, basic maneuvers, and smooth landings.
• Certification: Enables supervised solo flying; foundation for advanced courses.

2. P2 – Intermediate Pilot Course

• Duration: About 7 days
• Flight Training: Adds advanced flight techniques like thermalling and cross-country navigation basics, including daily solo flights (approx. 5–8) focusing on thermal flying, flight endurance, and navigation.
• Certification: Permits independent flying under standard conditions. Typically merged with P1.

3. P3 – Advanced Pilot Course

• Duration: 14 days
• Flight Training: Focused on cross-country navigation and long-distance flights. This includes multiple extended flights, often 90 minutes or longer. Training covers advanced maneuvers, emergency handling, and pre-competition preparation.
• Certification: National and international validity for advanced pilots.

4. P4 – Advanced Autonomous Pilot Course

• Duration: Approximately 40 days
• Flight Training: Intensive practical flights honing advanced cross-country skills, dynamic soaring, and autonomous decision-making under varying weather and terrain conditions. Includes competition flying, emergency drills, and rescue techniques.
• Certification: APPI 4 Progress or FAI IPPI 4, internationally recognized.
